Workshop: Neurodiversity, Autism and the joy of parenting differently wired children

Join Dr Melanie Heyworth for an online introductory workshop on Autism, neurodiversity and finding joy in parenting Autistic children. In this workshop, we will redefine Autism from an Autistic perspective, examine the ways in which neurodiversity can help you to reframe your thinking about Autism, and discuss how this new understanding can inform the way you parent your Autistic children with patience, empathy, respect and happiness for your child’s and your own wellbeing.

So that you are able to view the workshop at a time that is suitable for you and can revisit it if needed in the future, we have provided you with ongoing access to this recording. A downloadable PDF resource will also be available to you upon purchase of this workshop.

Did you know? If your child has an NDIS plan that includes a budget line for parent education, and you are plan- or self-managed, you can claim your registration costs for Reframing Autism events from your child’s NDIS funding.

We believe that each and every member of the Autistic community and its supporters should have access to our learning material and events. If you wish to access our resources but are experiencing financial hardship, please feel welcome to email us at info@reframingautism.org.au so that we can assist you.

Just Right for You

“From the moment you began to grow, I knew that you would be just right …”

Just Right for You offers a warm, optimistic way of introducing Autism to your child and embracing their differences.

Written by Reframing Autism CEO and founder Melanie Heyworth and with the delightful illustrations of Celeste Josephine Art, the book’s Autistic creators bring a depth of insight and passion to this work.

We are pleased to announce that Just Right for You is now available for purchase through leading online booksellers.

The Reframing Autism team would like to acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we have the privilege to learn, work, and grow. Whilst we gather on many different parts of this Country, the RA team walk on the land of the Birpai, Gadigal, Darkinjung, Wadawurrung, Jagera, Turrbal, Whadjuk and Southern Yamatji peoples.

We are committed to honouring the rich culture of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of this Country, and the diversity and learning opportunities they provide us with. We extend our gratitude and respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and to all Elders past, present, and emerging, for their wisdom, their resilience, and for helping this Country to heal.

Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
